Why Women in Apologetics?

WIA exists to guide women from a feelings-based faith to a faith firmly rooted in the truth of Jesus Christ.

While we certainly aren’t against emotions, we believe in the steadfast and unchanging truth of God’s word and the Holy Spirit to lead us, not our feelings.

We believe that regardless of academic background or stage of life, every woman is called to apologetics. Rooted in 1 Peter 3:15, we hold that giving a reason for the hope we have is not reserved for a select few or only for intellectual men of faith, but is a calling for all believers in Christ.

“But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”

– 1 Peter 3:15

More Than Just Apologetics Content

WIA was founded to change the culture around apologetics for Christian women by making it more accessible, relational, and relevant.

We recognize that many women feel ill-equipped in theological spaces, especially when it comes to engaging with culture, media, and family on matters of faith. Our work is rooted in the conviction that apologetics is not strictly an academic pursuit for the intellectual; it is pre-evangelism, a way of preparing hearts and minds to receive truth:

  • Trials: Women need to be educated to understand the evidence for their faith to stand strong when trials inevitably come, knowing that Christ is indeed the story of reality and our reason for hope.
  • Tough Questions: Women need to be equipped to answer tough questions about Christianity to be respectful and effective in sharing the gospel.
  • Culture: Women are half of the Imago Dei, and their God-given identity is being threatened by transgender ideology.
  • Next Generation: Mothers and mother-like figures are on the frontline of addressing children’s questions and doubts about Christianity.

Our Story

began in 2017 with Jade and Rachel, two budding apologists who had just finished a master’s in Christian apologetics (Jade, right) and would soon finish it (Rachel, left). During their journey into apologetics, they both recognized a significant lack of women interested in the study, not only at the academic level but also in women’s ministries at their churches. It was this realization that spurred their hearts with a dream to glorify God by raising up more women ready to defend their faith and share the good news of Christ with gentleness and respect.
