Writing Expectations

Qualifications

Degree in English, creative writing, journalism, apologetics, philosophy, theology, or a related field preferred with 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Writing Assessment

Each applicant will be expected to submit a short paper on the same assigned topic for our editors to assess before being invited for an interview.

Featured Writing

Depending on which writing path you take with WIA, your work will be featured on our website, social media platforms, and/or publications (quick guides, devotionals, etc.).

English Standard Version

We use the ESV Bible for our citations because it is based on critical editions of the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts. It's considered a literal translation that emphasizes accuracy, literary quality, and depth of meaning.

Chicago Manual of Style

We use the Chicago Manual of Style 18th Edition, a comprehensive style guide used in publishing and academics, and for researchers producing scholarly works for broader audiences. Additionally, each writing assignment goes through formal editing.
